Behold the blue sky!
Spread over an army
Of green.
Sprouting hues of joy
The rolling hills reached
To touch the zenith.
Pleasant odour wrapped
The moor.
Pretty pollies flitted
In and out.
Breathed out melodies
Long forgotten ,perched
Upon the birch.
The gurgling brook
Joined in the chorus.
Dews dazzled like diamonds
On the slender grass.
Ah! What a time
To be alive.
Spring in her full glory
Her bosom thronged
With life nectar.
Tis sad, to be girdled
With cobwebs of daily life
To reside in murky darkness
While my mind yearns to fly
Leap higher to meet
The simple joys .
