Caught In The Snare

Coy eyes glanced at me
Through the window -sills
A childish smile played on
Her face otherwise Distraught.
A sudden cry pierced the
Air as strong arms pried
Her away into darkness.
Her hands stretched before
Begging for help as she
Was dragged away.
Stunned I stood at
The dearth of humanity.
I followed the noise
And there in a drab
Room,she  sat shackled
To her bed, branded insane
Caught in the snare of greed.
Her hands feeling the
Stubbles on her head
Mouth open , murmuring.
A melancholy of her lost Sanity .
